Opening the Mission Call

It was an exciting evening as our families gathered together for the opening of our mission call.  We had been in North Dakota and received word from Jeremy that our mission call had arrived.  So we skeedaddled back to Idaho!

That evening we converged at Jill's house.  Becky, Jeremy, Holly, and Jill's families were all there.  Those who couldn't make it were each there via cell phone.  There were five cell-phoned families listening in (Melanie, Shanna, Brett, Mundee, and Alan's families).  The feeling in the room was electric!
It was pretty exciting to receive our call signed by our prophet, President Thomas S. Monson!
"Dear Elder and Sister Bingham, You are hereby called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"You are assigned to labor in the Zambia, Lusaka Mission..."

Then we had to look on the map to see where in the world Zambia was!  It is in Africa!  I had had a feeling for a long time that we would be called to Africa.  I think the Lord was just preparing me for the actual call.  Now begins another chapter in our adventures of Life!
